he epitome of privileged motoring Georgian Silver over Charcoal leather; Blacktop 6.75-liter naturally aspirated V-8 engine; automatic transmission Air conditioning, power steering, brakes, windows, convertible top, and seats Coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward Odometer displays fewer than 25,000 miles since new Arguably the ultimate 1970s and 1980s symbol of wealth and success, the Rolls-Royce Corniche was a car sought by manybut one only the fortunate few could afford. Designed to be enjoyed by their lucky owners in warm-weather climates, each Corniche took four months to hand-build. With a list price of over $200,000, each car utilized only the finest materials Britain had to offer, including Wilton wool carpeting, Connolly leather, and carefully selected burl walnut veneer.
First introduced in 1971, the Corniche remained in production for nearly 25 years. Over this time, the model was periodically updated to keep it both modern and relevant. The Corniche II, the models first major revision, was introduced in 1977 and included new rack-and-pinion steering, alloy and rubber bumpers (which replaced the earlier chrome bumpers), and an oil cooler, aluminum radiator, and bi-level air conditioning system. Further mechanical and cosmetic updates to the Corniche II were implemented in 1987.
This 1988 example was completed in December of 1987 and is presented in Georgian Silver over Charcoal leather with grey mats. This chassis leather, trim, veneers, and brightwork all appear in an appropriate and highly presentable condition befitting the indicated mileage. Furnished with an extensive suite of standard amenities and power options, the pilot of this stunning and hand-built machine could want for nothing except the more open road. A set of 15-inch factory alloy wheels presently shod in a newer set of Hankook narrow whitewall tires, assure optimal roadgoing grip around town. This Corniche II is accompanied by an owners manual, RROC documents, clean Carfax and select service records.
